I Used to Study Poisons...

From the Asahi Shimbun*:
"Organophosphorus substances like dichlorvos cannot pass through the vinyl wrapping. So the dichlorvos was mixed into the product during the period from when mackerels were transported from Denmark to when they were processed in China's Shandong province," said Hideaki Karaki, professor emeritus of toxicity at the University of Tokyo.
::blink::

"professor emeritus of toxicity"

WTF?

*Isn't it cool that a beer company runs one of the most powerful newspapers in the country? Can you imagine "The Budweiser Times"? Or maybe "The Daily Coors."
